Asset Tags Materials FAQs

Polyester Metalized Matte Silver and Polyester Gloss White are top choices for industrial asset tags. Both offer 2 mil thickness and are resistant to heat, tearing, abrasion, and stretching. These materials perform well in environments with physical stress or exposure to high temperatures.

Both Polyester Metalized Matte Silver and Polyester Gloss White come with permanent adhesive designed to bond effectively with LSE plastics, making them ideal for challenging surfaces like polycarbonate, polypropylene, and ABS.

Security Polyester Silver is designed for tamper-evident labeling. When removed, the word “VOID”appears on both the tag and the surface, offering a clear visual indicator of tampering—ideal for electronics, tools, and high-security assets.

Yes. LexSaver®plus White and Vinyl Destructible Reflective White are destructible materials. They flake into pieces upon removal, which deters unauthorized transfer or tampering.

Yes. Outdoor durability varies by material:

  1. Polyester-based tags: Up to 2 years
  2. Security Polyester Silver: Up to 7 years
  3. LexSaver®plus and Vinyl Destructible Reflective White: Up to 7 years and UV resistant
  4. Flexible Anodized Aluminum Foil and Anodized Metal: 20 years for embedded barcodes

Choose Flexible Anodized Aluminum Foil or LexSaver®plus White for curved or moderately irregular surfaces. These materials offer strong adhesion and flexibility while maintaining durability.

Ultra Permanent adhesives are used with Flexible Anodized Aluminum Foil and Anodized Metal materials. These adhesives offer the highest bond strength, ideal for long-term or high-abuse applications.

Both materials offer similar durability and thickness, but:

  1. Gloss White has a clean, bright finish for contrast
  2. Metalized Matte Silver has a brushed-metal look, often preferred for a premium or industrial aesthetic

Flexible Anodized Aluminum Foil and Anodized Metal embed barcodes into the anodized layer of the metal. These tags resist abrasion, sunlight, and chemicals, keeping data readable for up to 20 years.

Consider the following:

  1. Environment (indoor vs. outdoor, exposure to chemicals or heat)
  2. Surface type (flat, curved, LSE plastic, metal)
  3. Security needs (tamper-evidence, destructibility)
  4. Longevity (short-term vs. 20+ years) Use our material comparison guide or contact us for help selecting the best fit.

Yes, we offer Laptop Asset Tags designed for computers, tablets, and other portable devices. These tags use durable materials and tamper-evident options to protect against theft or loss.

Aluminum Foil Asset Tags are flexible and conform to curved surfaces, while Metal Asset Tags are rigid and provide maximum durability for flat surfaces in high-abuse environments.
