Domed Labels Information
The top layer of a dome label is formed when polyurethane liquid is poured over the printed label material. The dome cures and hardens into a crystal clear protective coating that gives the domed decal the high-end look your customers will notice. Domed tags are weather and UV resistant.
Domed Label Materials
- Shiny Silver Chrome: Our most popular domed material, a bright silver foil finish with a 2 mil adhesive. Shiny silver chrome looks especially vivid against opaque ink colors.
- Brushed Silver: A horizontal grain in the matte silver finish creates a distinctive and strong industrial look. Normally produced with opaque inks and a standard 2 mil adhesive
- White Film: A bright white film with a 2 mil adhesive, good for indoor or outdoor use.
- Gold: A wash of transparent gold ink on our Chrome material creates this high end, gold metallic look. Can be manufactured with opaque or transparent inks and comes with a 2 mil adhesive.
Shape & Size Requirements
Any shape without square corners or with a corner radius greater than 0.10" can be produced. Minimum height and width is 0.5 inches.
Ink / Color
Domed labels are digitally printed, four color labels, with a polyurethane dome overlay. We "build" your spot colors and Pantone® colors from CMYK, at no additional charge! When a PMS match is needed, request a sample proof to verify color match before production begins.
The difference between transparent and opaque inks:
*Transparent inks allow the sheen of the label material to show through the ink, giving the ink a shiny metallic look. This is most apparent with the silver chrome label material. For this look, just specify transparent ink areas in your Adobe® Illustrator™ vector file.
*Opaque (standard) inks do not allow the metallic material to show through.
