For ease of ordering, many popular label products are pre-set with recommended label adhesives. Often, the material you select will determine the label adhesive applied to your labels. For greater control of label stock and adhesive combinations, Multi Purpose Labels On Rolls are a good choice.
Most of our pressure sensitive label adhesives are made from water based acrylic adhesives, though a few special adhesives, like cold temperature, are made using solvent based adhesives and hot melt adhesives.

Permanent: Not designed to be removed without tearing the stock, damaging the surface, or using solvents. Adhesion strength and speed may be variable; full adhesion may be nearly instant, or may develop over minutes or hours.
Repositionable: Pressure-sensitive adhesive can be removed without damage to either the label or the items, leaves little to no adhesive residue behnind. May be reapplied in a different location or on a different item.
Removable: These labels may be removed without damage to either the label or the item, and leave little to no adhesive residue. (The longer they are in place, the more chance of residue.) Once removed, the label is not reusable. May be applied to a wide variety of surfaces.
Ultra-Removable: Can be removed at any time without damage to the label or the item, and leaves little to no adhesive residue behind. Once removed, the label is not reusable. May be applied to a wide variety of surfaces.
Ultra-Aggressive: Meant to be applied to curved and/or very rough surfaces, such as tires. The adhesive grabs quickly; if removed, the label is destroyed and residue is left behind.
Cold Temperature: Used in the packaging of frozen food products and industrial settings where the label is subjected to termperatures as low as -65 degrees Fahrenheit. The label must be applied at normal room temperatures. Removal will damage the label and possibly the item.
Low Surface Energy (LSE): Designed for use on Teflon, silicone, and other low surface energy plastics with waxy or oily feeling surfaces. Removal will damage the label and possibly the item.
3M 467/468: A thick adhesive (2-mil for 467 and 5-mil for 468) formulated to bond securely to rough (468) or smooth (467) curved surfaces. Often used with graphic overlays. Removal will damage the label and the item.
Static Cling: This material doesn't use a chemical adhesive to stick to glass or other smooth, non-porous surfaces (metal, smooth plastic); there is no residue when removed. The vinyl material bonds to smooth, clean, and dry surfaces with a little pressure. These labels may be reused.
