Custom UL Labels

Many of our label products meet the requirements for UL (Underwriters Laboratories) recognized systems. When you click Submit, your choices will be automatically analyzed, and the appropriate UL Recognized System assigned. Note that not all UL material substrates can be matched with every UL overlaminate or adhesive.

Please enter the quantity of labels needed, and the height and width of each label.
(Shape does not matter!)

Space between labels:
Custom Printed Labels come standard on 15" wide roll, with 0.1" (1/10") gap between labels. We can set gap to 0.5" (1/2") to make it easy to cut backing into individual pieces, or we can cut into individual pieces for you. (Lexan®, PVC, and Magnetic materials are always shipped as individual pieces, so there is no need to set this choice.) (More Info)

Artwork:
Artwork category is based on file type. Please choose one of the four given artwork categories. We will always consult with the client before changing quoted values.

Artwork Option 1 - Reorder of a previous job with no changes
Artwork Option 2 - Customer supplies Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, EPS, or CorelDraw file, outlines or vectors only - no graduated fills or placed images
Artwork Option 3 - Customer supplies Illustrator, Freehand, EPS, or CorelDraw file, some graduated fills and/or placed images. Also for Quark or Pagemaker; artwork charge may be adjusted depending on complexity.
Artwork Option 4 - Camera-ready art, some minor additions/editing required, or .DXF or .DWG files from CAD/CAM programs (e.g. AutoCad). Artwork charge may be adjusted depending on complexity.

Variable Data:
Variable data includes Serial Numbering (with or without barcodes), and/or merging a database of text so that each label includes a different data record. (A record can be a set of multiple fields).

SERIAL NUMBERING
with or without Barcoding
DATA BASE MERGE e.g. Text Personalization
or Non Sequential Numbering (with or without Barcoding)

Please choose one substrate material:
For a description and specifications of each substrate (vinyl, polyester, magnetic, lexan, etc.) please see the materials page.

Clear Overlaminates:
These overlaminates can be applied after printing to most materials (except Lexan®). They provide additional protection, and can create a high gloss or matte finish. Note that for most applications, they are not required for protection of labels. The LexSaver™ overlamination process can be used on printed Polyester or Vinyl as an alternative to subsurface printed Lexan® for creating nameplates or control panels; our Polyester substrates and the Lexan®.

1 mil Gloss Polyester 2 mil Gloss Polyester
1 mil Matte Polyester LexSaver® 5 mil velvet

Laminating Adhesive* (only when using LEXAN® substrate material):
This 3M adhesive is applied to Lexan® to make peel & stick nameplates and control panels. It comes in 2 mil for application to smooth surfaces & 5 mil for very rough surfaces. Thicker adhesive WILL NOT increase bonding strength to most surfaces; it can in fact be a detriment to final product. If you choose Lexan® as your substrate material, please indicate your need for adhesive below:

None
2 mil 3M #467MP (for generally smooth surfaces)
5 mil 3M #468MP (for very rough surfaces)

Please indicate the number of distinct areas on each
piece that should be free of laminating adhesive:

areas per piece. (Default is 0)
* All substrates, except Lexan, PVC, and Magnetic Vinyl already include an adhesive backing.

Please choose 0 or more printing colors: (For shapes only cut out of substrate, there will be no colors to print.)For a more detailed description of colors, PMS equivalents, CostFactor (CF), durability, and transparency of colors, (transparency scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being opaque and five being very transparent). "Tsp" in the color name means the color is very transparent; patterns or other colors underneath it will show through. Gold and Silver foils are at the end of the list.

IF YOU DO NOT SEE THE EXACT PMS COLOR YOU WANT, PLEASE CONTACT US
We can produce hundreds of other PMS colors by combining our standard colors below. (Note that this technique will always be more costly than using a single standard color, and it is not appropriate for certain types of graphics like small text or thin lines where registration of the two colors would be a problem.)
