| Nameplates, Membrane Switchpads, Control Panels, and more. Semi-rigid, clear 10 mil Lexan® (polycarbonate), with a lustrous velvet finish on the top surface. Material will be printed on the bottom side (subsurface printing), providing maximum protection to the printed image once adhered to application surface. Most applications require a flood coat of white as last layer to maintain color rendition of top colors. Accepts all our printing colors, except Gold or Silver Medal Foil. Outdoor exposure may cause yellowing of polycarbonate, so must be considered for outdoor use. Specify laminating adhesive if peel and stick adhesive is required (thin for smooth, thick for slightly rough or uneven surfaces). |

LexSaver™ Overlaminate - Substrate Combination
|
| Lexsaver® is not actually a printable substrate, but rather our unique process of combining a 5 mil velvet Lexan® overlaminate with any of our standard substrates. The most common substrate is 2 mil white polyester, and when used in place of Subsurface Printed Lexan®, a control panel or nameplate produced with the LexSaver™ process can be more economical for jobs which would otherwise require a white floodcoat and which have a large number of internal cutouts.

Adhesive is one of the best available for Low Surface Energy (LSE) plastics. Best for very flat, smooth surfaces as it will not conform to uneven surfaces. Will accept any of our printing colors or foils, however to maintain U.L. Recognition, contact us to make sure the colors you choose are U.L. Recognized as well. When printing on colored materials, white must be printed as a primer to achieve standard color rendition; silver tone will also change color tone of less opaque colors. Because it is metalized, this polyester will conduct electricity and is not suitable for the backs of printed circuit boards where label is applied over electrical contacts. A more economical way to achieve silver mirror finish than Super High Gloss 3 mil Silver Foil Vinyl. |
